Cursillo, a Spanish word for short course prononced KER-SEE-OH, the short form of the orginial title Cursillos de Cristiandad, a short course of Christianity and Christian living.
The cursillo method focuses on training lay people to become effective leaders over the course of a three-day weekend. The weekend includes fifteen talks, some given by priests and some by lay people. One emphasis of the weekend is on preparing those undergoing it to take the movement's methods back into the world on what's called the "fourth day".
For those who haven't attended Cursillo the strange word Ulrerya means "reunion of reunions" or a gathering of those who have attended the weekend course in, for the Diocese of British Columbia, all those who have attended the course across the Diocese.
This event will take place at St Peter's Quamichan, just east of Duncan on Saturday September 25th and is open to all Cursillo members, course graduates or those curious about it as well as members of the general public.
For more information or regsitration you can contact David Fitzsimmons. It's appreciated if you register by September 11th. If you're curious about the broader Cursillo movement in the Diocese and in Canada you can visit the Diocese of BC Cursillo web site or download the PDF.

Ministry is not simply the province of the ordained. It is also the duty of all baptized Christians to take part, as they can, in some form of ministry. An expression, as best each of us are able, of the radical acceptance and love Jesus taught us and which we try to emulate.
